Life Groups are MVBC's way of helping people connect relationally and grow spiritually by moving from rows in church to circles in homes. They are small groups of people (usually 12-16) who get together regularly to study some aspect of the Bible, while also getting to know each other.

Fall 2017 Life Groups
Experiencing the Heart of Jesus
Time: Every Sunday, 6 - 8 p.m. (Beginning September 10th)
Leaders: Ricky & Mavis Amano
Location: Amano Home
Join us each Sunday evening for dessert and fellowship, as well as a study on selected lessons from Max Lucado's Experiencing the Heart of Jesus: Knowing His Heart, Feeling His Love. Once a month we will have a potluck dinner and time together in place of the study.
Time: Every 1st & 3rd Sunday, 6 - 8 p.m. (Beginning September 17th)
Leaders: Wes & Allison Crenshaw
Location: Turner Home
For: College, graduate students & young adults (married and single), under 35, no children
This Life Group is for the college age or graduate student, or young adult age 35 and under. College can be the time of your life, and young adulthood can offer unique life opportunities, but how often do we have opportunities to share these experiences and encounters with others our age? This group will bring together this age group for time to hang out, learn and discuss. No one should have to experience their early years of adulthood alone, so join us for this Life Group as we bring life to each other and grow together!
Time: Every other Tuesday, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (beginning September 12th)
Leaders: Mike & Jackie Mabry
Location: Mabry Home
For: Any young married/newly married couples
This group is for young married couples to connect and encourage each other in this unique stage of life. We will discuss the Sunday morning messages and discover together ways we can make the scripture we are studying applicable in our daily lives. We will, of course, also pray, play and hang out together. This is an ongoing group throughout the year as we continue to support one another and grow in Christ together.
Women's Bible Study
Time: Every other Thursday, 9 - 11 a.m. (Beginning September 14th)
Leader: Linda Gemmill
Location: Carol Gorslin's Home
The Letters of 1, 2 & 3 John were written to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. Believers are challenged to look at contrasting themes such as walking in the light instead of darkness, truth versus lies and deception, loving God more than loving the world, and the meaning of true fellowship and community rather than shallowness. This 7 session study on Kelly Minter's What Is Love not only reveals the heart of John but also the heart of Jesus.
Gemmill Life Group (FULL)
Time: Every other Thursday night, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. (Beginning September 14th)
Leader: John Gemmill
Location: Gemmill Home
This Life Group will be studying Max Lucado's You'll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times. In this small group Bible study, Pastor Lucado reminds participants God doesn't promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless, and offers refreshing assurance that we will get through this.
MV Grief Care

MV Grief Care is a group for anyone who has experienced grief or loss in their life. Whether your grief is from 2 months or 20 years ago, this group is here to encourage you and offer support.
Time: Every other Friday 6:15 - 8 p.m. (Beginning September 15th)
Leaders: Brad & Margaret Petry, Adam & Krystle Porter
Location: Porters Home
For: Parents of young children
If you are a parent with young children, this is the group for you! Every other week we will have dinner together and pray for one another. We will be lightly studying our way through the book The Life Giving Home by Sally Clarkson (purchasing or reading the book is not required). We know that parenting can be hard, but it's easier when you don't go it alone. We hope you will join us!
