Eternal Life

How can I have eternal life?

1. There is one book of the Bible that is dedicated to telling people how to have eternal life. It's the Gospel of John.


John 20:30: "And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; 31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." (New King James Version)


2. In the Gospel of John, over and over again, Jesus promises eternal life to all who simply believe in Him.


John 5:24: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life."

John 6:47: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life."


3. Jesus can make this promise because He loves us and gave Himself as a payment for our sin by dying on a cross and rising again.


John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life."


4. Do you believe in Jesus? If you do believe in Jesus, you have eternal life. If you do not believe, you do not have life. It's that simple.


John 3:36: "He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
